Conquering the Great Divide
What Makes You?
It is easy for people to get caught up in what makes us different, unique, what separates us, what makes us who we are as individuals, but in that, to be unified we must have a common thread. Focusing on individualism does not work in unifying a people. We must have that common thing that we must each submit to that joins us together. As a nation what joins us together is that we are a nation, and when the enemy comes against the "nation" we stand together because we are knitted together by that common thread. As Christians we are unified by one God in Jesus Christ.
There is an indictment against the church as a whole that we have failed in adhering to what unites us as a body, we have taken the focus off of our God and put it on ourselves. We have bred contempt among us by way of our individualism. All of which is orchestrated by the hand of the enemy.
Matthew 12:25 King James Version (KJV)
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
If we do not focus on Jesus, the one that unites us as a body we will never be able to overcome this attack. Each part of the body is unique in its function but we must work together as a body. As with this nation each group is unique but we must unite as a people under one nation.
Where are we heading?
At the moment we are divided by our beliefs, we are divided by our race, we are divided within our government, we are divided by our culture, so what is left? The enemy's strategy so far is working, divide and conquer.
So where is the remnant in the land?
The remnant is the church, although we are divided we can overcome. There is no help for this nation outside of Christ, there is no help for the church outside of Christ. We cannot fix ourselves, we cannot change what makes us unique, but God can make the difference.
2 Chronicles 7:14 King James Version (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and wi
